Pilak
The place lies at a distance of almost 100 kms from Agartala, and the place has a good archeological value for its archeological remains of eighth / ninth centuries. Pilak falls under Belonia subdivision and a treasure house for Buddhist sculptures. Pilak is the site of the centuries old hidden treasure of golden civilization, is very dear to the people of heterodox creeds and sects representing both Hinduism and Buddhism. The 8th and 9th century rock - cut images, terracotta plaques make Pilak a rich beautiful heritage destination for tourist.
Number of Terracotta plaques, sealing with stupa and stone images of Avolokiteswara including image of Narsimhan have been found there which dates back to Buddhist period. A few years back a colossal image of the Sun God has been unearthed from the site.
Major Festivals - Makar Sankranti at Thirthamukh and Unokoti, Ashokashtami at Unokoti, Garia, Dhamail, Biju and Hojgiri Festival, Boat Race and Manasa Mangal Festival, Christmas at Jampuri Hills Baishakhi Festival (Sabroom), etc are celebrated.

By Air - Agartala is connected by airlines flights with Calcutta, Guwahati and Delhi. One can easily reach the Pilak by road from Agartala. It is located at a distance of about 110 kilometers from Agartala
By Rail - The two nearest railway stations are Kumarghat and Dharama Nagar. One can take a bus or taxi from Udaipur to reach the station.
By Road – From Pilak to Julaibari in Belonia Sub-Division then to Agartala. Good motor able roads connect Agartala with Pilak and are 2 ½ hours drive. Pilak is 100 kilometers from Agartala. Pilak is well connected by bus with the major cities of North East India. Tripura State Transport Corporation buses ply towards different places of North East.
