Mairang
Mairang is a sub - divisional headquarters and it is located halfway in between Shillong – Nongstoin Highway. 40 kilometers from Shillong, capital of Nongkhlaw states. 12 kilometers from Mairang lays the imposing Kyllang rock. It is a massive dome shape of single rock of granite, which measures 1,000 feet, across in diameter. Kyllang Rock is made of a single, huge solid igneous rock is situated at Mawnai about 10 kilometers from Mairang, the sub-divisional Head Quarter. The top of the dome-shape rock can accommodate a considerable number of picnickers. Lum Symper - This place is situated a few kilometers from Weiloi village on the way to Mawkyrwat. It is a beautiful picnic spot
A beautiful memorial in the honor of U Tirot is constructed here in Mairang to commemorate his great feats. U Tirot Sing Syiem (Raja of Nongkhlaw) had spear-headed a war against the British invaders to defend the territorial integrity and cultural identity of the Hynniewtrep people. Mairang is a town and a town area committee in West Khasi Hills district in Meghalaya.

By Air - Nearest Major airport is Guwahati at a distance of nearly 150 kilometers, direct flights available from Kolkata, Delhi, Bagdogra and Bangkok. The nearest airport is at Umroi, 35 kilometers from Shillong, which connects this lovely city by air with the rest of the country. There is a helicopter service from Guwahati Airport to Shillong and Shillong to Tura.
By Rail - There are no rail lines in Meghalaya. The nearest major railhead is at Guwahati, which is at a distance of nearly 150 kilometers. Guwahati is well connected with the rest of the country by broad gauge rail, road and airways.
By Road - 150 kilometers from Guwahati and 40 kilometers from Shillong is this tourist spot called Mairang. The roads are good as there is rush of tourist. Most of the tourist spot of Meghalaya lies in this region. Private vehicles are available.
